Expedition Cruises to Remote Tasmanian Wilderness

On Board’s bespoke cruises venture to Port Davey, Bathurst Harbour, southwest Tasmania, the east coast and beyond

Explore remote lands where mountains rise from the deep, towering sea cliffs meet wild Southern Ocean and isolated islands hide pristine beaches on a multi-day expedition or exclusive charter.

Tasmanian-owned and family-operated since 1998, we know these waters intimately. Jump on board for an expedition like no other.

Boutique Expedition Vessels

On Board's custom-built expedition-cruise vessels have been designed for comfort, style, safety and an intimate wilderness experience in Tasmanian waters.

Arriving in January 2023, boutique-cruiser Odalisque III accommodates just 12 guests. The catamaran features six well-appointed cabins and spacious indoor and outdoor lounge areas with expansive ocean views.

Invitation to Adventure

Owner and founder Pieter van der Woude personally welcomes you to explore the waters and wilderness he knows and loves on this experience of a lifetime. Pieter, now On Board's head skipper, is a skilled mariner with over 50 years of experience on and under Tasmanian waters – including as a search and rescue diver for Tasmania Police and a commercial abalone diver.

Pieter, his daughter Alice and the On Board team look forward to being your hosts and guides in the wilderness.

My favourite tour in
Tasmania is at Port Davey

On Board runs multi-day expeditions that immerse you in the pristine wilderness while enjoying Tasmanian food and beverages. To me, Port Davey is one of the most incredible places and on a still day the tannin-coloured waters reflect the amazing scenery. It’s so wild, remote and full of beauty.

I have travelled far and wide, but
this tour was one of the best.

The scenery, the remoteness, the friendliness, the knowledge and of course the food made this such a great experience. If you are looking for a tour curated to your tastes in one of the most beautiful places in Australia, then this is it. The boat had all the creature comforts you need for relaxing after a day exploring this remote wilderness.
