Behind-the-Scenes Look at New Vessel
Coming in 2023: 6x the volume, 6x the adventure & indulgence.
The image above features a proud but tiny owner Pieter van der Woude set against the giant hull of the new vessel Odalisque III, which we estimate will be 6x the volume of existing vessel Odalisque II. To give a sense of the scale, Piet is just shy of 2m tall...
Over the next two months, the vessel will transform from an aluminium hull to a luxury floating lodge. With the engines now installed, the windows in, the Huon pine helm laid, and the first lick of paint about to be applied, we'll soon be turning our attention to some softer touches.
On Board is working with local artists, makers, and creators to deliver an exclusive and truly Tasmanian experience. On Odalisque III, guests will find award-winning Tasmanian pinots, exquisite custom-made ceramics handcrafted by a Hobart potter, artwork by celebrated Tasmanian artists - and that's just the beginning.
Odalisque III Construction Update
Here are a few behind-the-scenes images taken earlier this week of Odalisque III. Excuse the mess!
Our two tenders will be pulled up onto small slipways that are hidden under false floors on the aft main deck.
The new vessel is 24.8m long and 8m across, and has a draft of 1.25m and a max. speed of 25 knots.
The sun deck, located on the bow of the vessel and accessed via the dining room, will have some of the best views.
All of the six cabins, including this Southwest Suite, have knee-to-ceiling windows for expansive ocean views, queen beds & ensuites.
The dining room, where guests will enjoy shared meals, includes a small library and plush leather bench seating.
The lower levels include pantry, crew quarters, fuel tank and the engine room.
Construction has started on our second tender, a 15ft aluminum dinghy, which will take guests on excursions.
Odalisque III is being constructed by specialist boat builders Richardson Devine Marine in Hobart, Tasmania.
