Explore remote corners of Tasmania’s World-Heritage wilderness on a luxury expedition

A purpose-built expedition catamaran provides luxury escape, adventure and exclusive access to wilderness areas

On Board is a Tasmanian-owned, family-operated expedition company that provides intimate, place-based experiences aboard Odalisque III, a purpose-built boutique vessel for a maximum of 12 guests in seven cabins, built and launched by On Board in Tasmania in 2023.

Exclusive expedition cruises connect guests to the landscapes, stories, and flavours of Tasmania, from the remote southwest — Port Davey, Bathurst Harbour & Melaleuca — to the sparkling East Coast of Freycinet, Maria Island & the Tasman Peninsula.

On Board’s signature journeys explore Port Davey in the UNESCO Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area, one of the last truly wild frontiers of Australia. Explore these remote lands with daily guided walks and adventure boat excursions on bespoke itineraries designed by expert local guides. With an all-Tasmanian crew, guests enjoy these wilderness experiences alongside the soft luxuries of a boutique floating lodge.

NEW EXPEDITION

Port Davey Highlights

Three powerful days at the edge of the world. Explore sea caves, hike rugged headlands, and cruise mirror-calm inlets in Tasmania’s remote southwest. A concentrated taste of wilderness, adventure, and renewal for those short on time.

Launched in September 2025, this condensed three-day journey captures the essence of the region’s silence, waterways and rugged peaks, previously only available on longer voyages.

To celebrate, we’re offering a $1,000 cabin credit on any new 2, 4, or 6-night booking made by 12 December 2025, valid for expedition departures through 8 May 2027. It’s our way of rewarding those ready to explore Tasmania’s Southwest in all its untamed glory aboard Odalisque III, our purpose-built expedition vessel.

My favourite tour in
Tasmania is at Port Davey

On Board runs multi-day expeditions that immerse you in the pristine wilderness while enjoying Tasmanian food and beverages. To me, Port Davey is one of the most incredible places and on a still day the tannin-coloured waters reflect the amazing scenery. It’s so wild, remote and full of beauty.

Port Davey in the Tasmanian Wilderness World-Heritage Area
is one of the most precious places in the world.

Businesses like On Board, who immerse guests in this incredible wilderness, providing luxury but with a care and passion for the place, are pioneering the future of Tasmania’s tourism.
